Get started with Itefy Go

Equipment work happens in storage rooms, on job sites and in vehicles — not behind a desk. Itefy Go is the mobile companion to the web app: check items in and out, scan QR labels, change condition or location, and report issues right where you stand. This tutorial gets it onto your phone and walks you through your first real actions with it.

Itefy Go is a Progressive Web App (PWA), so there is nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play — it runs from your phone's browser and installs to your home screen in seconds.

At the end, you'll have the app on your home screen and will have completed a full check-out and check-in from your phone.

Step 1 — Open Itefy Go and log in

  1. Open the browser on your phone and go to go.itefy.com.
  2. Log in with the same username (email address) and password you use for the web app.
  3. Select the account you want to work in — you land on the app dashboard (Home).

If you have several accounts, you can switch later with the switch account function.

Step 2 — Install it on your home screen

You can keep using Itefy Go straight from the browser, but installing it makes it feel like any other app — its own icon, full screen, one tap away.

  • Android: the login page (or the bottom of the dashboard, if you're logged in) shows a box with an Install app button. Tap it and confirm — the app appears with your other apps in a few seconds.
  • iPhone/iPad: Safari doesn't show an install button. Instead, tap the Share button, scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then confirm with Add.

The details, including moving the icon somewhere convenient, are in Install app.

Step 3 — Find an item

  1. From the dashboard, tap View items — your items appear alphabetically.
  2. Start typing in the Search for... field at the top to narrow the list, and tap an item to open its page.
  3. The item page shows the picture, type, condition, current location and history — and the task buttons you'll use in the next step.

If your equipment carries QR labels, skip the searching: tap Scan QR code on the dashboard and point the camera at a label — the item opens automatically. The first time, allow the app to use your camera.

Step 4 — Check an item out

  1. From the dashboard (Home), tap Checkouts, then the + icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Under Items to check out, tap Select items and pick items from the list — or scan their QR codes.
  3. Give the checkout a short, describing name under Reason for checkout. Optionally set Assigned to (if someone else is responsible) and a Checkout location.
  4. Under Return by, set when the items are due back — if they aren't checked in by then, the people responsible are notified.
  5. Tap Check out.

Step 5 — Check it back in

  1. From the dashboard, select Checkouts and tap the checkout you just made — or find (or scan) one of its items and tap Check in on the item page.
  2. Tap the icon in the upper right corner, confirm in the check-in window, and the items are available again.
