Plan a repair from an issue
When an issue can't be fixed on the spot, the repair usually needs to be planned: the items must be taken out of normal use for a while, and the work should show up in calendars. Instead of creating that reservation by hand, you can schedule it directly from the issue.
Schedule the repair
- Open the issue from one of the issue listings.
- Click the ⋮ menu in the top right corner and choose Schedule repair….
- The new-reservation window opens, prefilled with:
- the issue's items,
- a name based on the issue headline ("Repair: …"),
- the Repair classification,
- a link back to the issue.
- Adjust the period, items and other details as needed, then save.
Scheduling a repair requires permission to create reservations — not issue permissions — so a planner who can't edit the issue itself can still book the repair. Items that can't be reserved (for example inventory items or archived items) are left out of the prefilled list.
Follow the chain
Once scheduled, the connection is visible from both sides:
- The issue's info card lists its Scheduled reservations, each with its start time and current status — click one to open it.
- The reservation shows which issue it was created from.
When the repair has been carried out, complete the reservation as usual — typically as an event documenting the work, which inherits the Repair classification automatically. See Create event from reservation.
