Types

Types is an optional way to categorize your equipment in Itefy. To select a type for an item, you first have to add types.

You can manage types from the main menu (Filters > Types), which opens the Manage types dialog. The same dialog is also available from the type picker wherever you select a type — for example when adding an item — via the Manage types button.

Add types

Click the Add type button, enter a name, and save. In the type picker there is also a quick add button, so you can create a new type on the fly while assigning it.

Change type name

Click the rename icon next to the type, enter a new name, and save. The name has to be unique (multiple types can't have the same name).

Delete types

Click the delete icon next to the type, and confirm. When deleting a type, the type is reset in all items where that type was selected. The items themselves are not affected.

Select a type for an item

To define a type for an item, go to the item and click the Settings tab. Under Properties, select Item type — the type is saved automatically when selected. You can also click the type shown under the item name at the top of the item page to change it quickly, or set the type for many items at once with the batch edit tools on the items list.
