Attachments and pictures on issues

Pictures often say more than words when documenting broken equipment. Every issue can hold its own pictures and file attachments — photos of the damage, service reports, quotes from repair shops, and so on.

Add files

There are three ways to attach files to an issue, given you have permissions to work with the issue:

  • The Attachments card: Click Add files on the Attachments card and select one or more files.
  • Drag and drop: Drop files anywhere onto the issue page — you don't have to hit the card. A Drop files to attach overlay confirms where they will land.
  • Inline in the description: When editing the issue description, use the image button in the toolbar, or drag or paste an image directly into the text. Inline images become part of the description itself, which is useful when a picture belongs to a specific point in the text.

Pictures and other files are separated automatically: images show up as thumbnails in a gallery, while other file types are listed with their name and size.

View and download

  • Click a picture thumbnail to open it full size in a lightbox.
  • Click a file name to open or download the file in a new browser tab.

Everyone who can view the issue can also view and download its files — adding and deleting requires issue permissions.

Delete a file

Hover over a picture thumbnail and click the × in its corner, or click the trash icon next to a file in the list. Deleting a file from an issue is permanent and cannot be undone.
