Dashboard

The dashboard is the first page you see when logging into your account.

The web app dashboard.

Purpose

  • Provide shortcuts to frequently used functions
  • Give a heads up on things that need your attention, and information about recent activity
  • Give insights on how your equipment is performing

Quick actions

At the top there is a row of quick-action cards for Items, Reservations, Checkouts, Issues and Events. Each card has a + button that opens the form for creating a new record of that kind, and an arrow that takes you to the full list. Clicking the card itself also opens the list.

Key numbers

Below the quick actions is a set of key-metric cards, each showing one number:

  • Items total, items in use, and items inoperative
  • Uncompleted reservations
  • Overdue checkouts
  • Items low on inventory
  • Unresolved issues assigned to you, new issues, and issues in progress

The cards are color coded — red means the number needs immediate attention, orange needs some attention, and grey means all good. Click a card to open the corresponding filtered list (for example, the overdue checkouts card opens the checkouts list filtered to overdue).

Dashboard tabs

The rest of the dashboard is organized into tabs. Most widgets show a key number with a trend arrow (whether the number is going up or down) and a chart of its development over recent months; list widgets show a handful of recent records with a shortcut to the full list.
