Create new reservation
You can open the new-reservation window from several places:
- Reservations page: Select Reservations in the main menu, then click the New reservation button in the toolbar.
- Dashboard: Click the + button on the Reservations quick-action card.
- Item page: Open the Perform task menu and select New reservation. The item is automatically added to the reservation.
- Items list: Select one or more items, then choose Create → Create reservation from the selection bar. The selected items are automatically added.
- Issue page: The ⋯ menu's Schedule repair… opens a new reservation prefilled with the issue's items and the Repair classification (see classifications).
Fill in the reservation
Name (required): A short, describing name for the reservation (at least 3 characters).
Classification: Pick what kind of reservation this is — Usage (default), Maintenance, Inspection, Transport, Repair or Other. See Classify Reservations and Events.
Period (required): Select the start and end date and time. For a reservation within a single day, pick the same date for start and end.
Items (required): Add one or more items. Itefy checks availability as you go — if an item is already reserved during the selected period, it is flagged as unavailable, and the item picker marks already-booked items so you can't select them. If a kit contains a booked item, the whole kit is flagged. Resolve conflicts by changing the period or replacing the flagged items.
Reservation repeats (optional): For a recurring reservation, choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly and set the repetition pattern (interval, weekdays, month dates, and so on). The reservation's duration can't be longer than the recurring interval — for example, a daily repetition requires a period of 24 hours or less. Then choose when the series ends: On date, Never, or After N times. Click View dates booked to preview the generated dates before saving. Recurring reservations are available on Startup and higher plans.
Optional details: Expand the Optional details section to add tags, assign the reservation to another user (Assigned to), pick a Reserve to location, or add additional information. After saving, you can also link a customer or other contact on the reservation page.
Click Create reservation (or Create reservations for a recurring series).
If items in the reservation are booked during the selected period, you will not be able to create the reservation until you either change the period or remove the flagged items (and possibly replace them with other similar items).
